Credentials: Environmental Engineering - CoE
Position title: Lab Manager
I am the Lab Manager of the Environmental Engineering Laboratory (aka Environmental Engineering Core Facility – EECF) in the department of Civil & Environmental Engineering. I have bachelors degrees in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology – so I like to say I help engineers do chemistry. I’ve been in this role since September 1999 – managing the lab, ordering supplies, dealing with all sorts of water leaks in my part of engineering hall, and training hundreds (?) of students on the use of analytical instrumentation in the lab. My goal is to provide students with confidence in their understanding of how the instruments work and what the results mean to their research – while teaching the concept of quality control. When I’m not at work, you can probably find me at a movie theater!
